Kitchen Gardening Training and Seed Distribution in Gujranwala

 
Kitchen Gardening Training under Smallholder Adaptive Farming Project was organized on October 26, 2020 at Mariam Sadiqa Town, Chan da Qilla, St. Mark Parish Gujranwala. Mr. Rafiq Inayat – Project Officer Caritas Pakistan Lahore highlighted the need and importance of the vegetables in human life. He also highlighted the need of kitchen gardening to solve food security issue.
 
“It can help in meeting nutritional requirements of a family. With limited efforts and cost in the courtyard or backyard not only fresh and chemical free vegetables can be produced but this activity also reduces kitchen expense,” he said sharing illustrations about soil preparation and irrigation for kitchen gardening, seasonal calendar of vegetables, method of chemical free spray and holing and removal of weeds.
 
Fr. Rafhan Fayyaz urged all to grow cheap and healthy vegetables. Fr. Bernard Emmanuel Parish Priest highlighted their nutritive value and palatability. He thanked Caritas Pakistan Lahore for this training and providing vegetables seed to the women group. Fr. Bernard Emmanuel Parish Priest St. Mark’s Parish along with Fr. Rafhan Fayyaz Parish Priest St. Joseph Parish, Rafiq Inayat – Project Officer, Babu Ishaq, Ms Surriya Chunan – NCJP and Obaid David distributed vegetable seeds among the women group.
